Cries for acceptance
A stranger, like any stranger to this land,
Just passing as they all do,
Yet the only one rejected,
Silently watching everyone turn away.
She longs for those words,
To hear from young or old,
If even in a whisper....just these words:
"I love you for who you are."
She thought she had a friend,
One whom she could trust,
But she put too much "faith in words"
Betrayal was all she got:
For a dagger, axe, and blade of an enemy
Is far more merciful than a paper cut
Intentionally given by a friend.
To fill the void within her,
She turned visible feelings to stone
And agonized in her own company.
But her soul is still crying...
Crying for acceptance,
Looking for a stranger of her own kind:
Looking for refuge.
Still after all she's been through
She's determined to radiate her love,
Her acceptance to those around her.
Apologizes.
Not because that's how it's meant to be,
But because she believes she was wrong.
